30 weeks and spring

Here's my 30 week belly. I have gained actually gained 20 lbs so far. In the picture, I'm smelling our apple blossoms. Apparently the tree doesn't produce apples, but we can't pull it out because Rob and Christopher have dubbed it the "tree house tree."

Our tulips. Later in the summer we'll get a similar picture with the roses. The bushes are growing back from their pruning...and I can't wait to have fresh roses in a vase on our kitchen table.

For Family Home Evening we did sidewalk chalk. (Well, Rob and Christopher did sidewalk chalk and I drew on paper...didn't want the chalky feeling on my hands)

Christopher gave another talk in Primary on Sunday. His topic was "Because of Jesus Christ, I can return to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus again." Here's how it went:

"I like basketball, baseball, football....(maybe he named a few other sports, or repeated some). These are important to me. But Jesus is more important because of him, we can live with Him and Heavenly Father again. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

As you can see, we compromised after last time's episode. He was thrilled it went so well and that he could say what he wanted to say.

Rob took these pictures a month or so ago. Now under the windows, red tulips have emerged.

Last thursday morning we woke up to 6" of snow.

Happy Easter

My mom gave us these sugar easter decorations, so we had to make easter cupcakes and use them. Christopher loves cupcakes!

We dyed eggs...the finished product. He also loves to peel the eggs.

Easter Egg hunt. Oh, and at his Dr's appointment he was 30 lbs, 37 1/2" (5% for both...I think after this winter we'll be done w/2T clothes though.)

We got 2 free (male) baby dwarf hamsters on KSL classifieds or Craigslist. Christopher and Rob love them. (Rob always had a million pets growing up...I had zero.) The names Elliot and Sam were suggested (after Christopher's friends that moved away), but we mostly just call them "the hamsters." So our pet total is up to three...2 hamsters and a parakeet named Simon.

We bought this 1000 piece puzzle of Provo at DI for $2 and were thrilled that all the pieces were there. Christopher loves puzzles and was good at noticing details on the pieces. (He knew what pieces went to the SWKT and that my sister Cambrai has a class there.) Rob did most of it, but I helped a little.

Christopher's birthday is our 100th post.

This is a side-ways picture of Christopher's cake. It's a basketball and hoop. My friend Melissa made it. Thanks Melissa, you did a great job! (I frosted the basketball.) After we made it we decided we should have frosted the hoop white or a light yellow. I think if we did the strings diagonally it would have turned out better too.

Rob's parents gave him this soccer set and he loves it!

He wants to play with us every day.

We gave him the pants/jacket set he is wearing in these pictures. He wants to wear them everyday. We also gave him a toy set that came with 2 firetrucks (one that is remote controlled), a police car, ambulance, and helicoptor (and street signs/cones/people). He loved his birthday!

My drapes

This is our front room. When you walk in the front door, you can go up or down stairs, or come into this room on your left. We love the high ceilings and fireplace.

I made these drapes/curtains for our huge front windows. I got the fabric in February. $85 and 30+ hours later we were very happy with the result. This is the biggest project I have ever done in my entire life. I got to know my sewing machine quite well and learned how to make button holes. A special thanks to my mother-in-law for all her advice. Rob is thrilled that they are up and done.

Opps...Some how I measured wrong and the fabrics are all different lengths. I'll have to go back and rehem. Oh well, for me cutting was the hardest part because lying down, the fabric was longer than our big room.
