Baby hammers...I mean hamsters

There are 5 baby hamsters in there.  The twins call them baby hammers.  The boys got a boy hamster and a girl hamster and have separate cages for them.  They put them together on purpose (and with Rob's help) for a little bit and waited to see if the girl was pregnant.

You can see them a little better.  This is the day they were born.
Here is the mom hamster a few weeks after they are born.
The mom's cage.  The hamster's names are little amigo and little amiga (Michael named them), but really we just call them "the mom hamster" and "the dad hamster".
There were 2 that were the same color as the mom.

Similar to the dad.

The light gray one was the runt and sadly ended up squished in the cage between the house and the wall and died.  The boys were excited to sell the hamsters for $10 each on KSL.  The 2 dark hamsters sold for that price, but after a while, we lowered the price on the light colored ones to $5 each, and sold them.

Fun Run

Christopher and Jadon running the first lap together.
Michael running deep in the pack.
Here is the far away picture (close up is the first one), but you miss the fall leaves in that one.

Michael's close up.

Beginning of October

Rob and Zachary play this game where Rob rolls around like they are wrestling.
I know his face isn't that different in the picture, but as a mom you want to remember all the faces, right?!  The full face smile, the happy expression, etc.
Glad I peeked in at them sharing a moment.

Mom, why are you interrupting?
Arr....Rrrrrah I can still hear Rob's "i'm going to get you" sounds in my head.
Makayla running at the indoor track at BYU.  I wanted to start a couch to 5k program, so for Family Home Evening we went (as BYU employee family) to the indoor track.  Makayla was my running buddy this lap.  We would switch off every few minutes for the "run fast/walk" workout (on my cross country team we called them fartleks, which means fast/slow in....swedish?? Christopher and Michael were a relay and Rob and I were a relay (so we could keep an eye on the twins walking through the bleachers (in the middle of the track is where BYU volleyball awesomeness happens.) Oh, and hold Zachary.)
Here we are potty training Round 1.  (yes, that means it wasn't successful.)  Joseph was enthusiastic, but Matthew cried "no potty" So, around this time we decided it was time to move, I stopped potty training them and stopped the running program.  Time to pack. (once we decided 3 bedrooms wasn't enough, everything happened so fast!)
While potty training, we had the heater going to keep them warm, and a thick blanket to sit on while doing fun activities (like this matching game my sister Cambrai made for us).  The blanket helped me not be worried about them pottying on the floor.
They are wearing back packs and going to school.  They love cramming these backpacks full of random toys, then emptying them all around the house.  So "fun". I finally realized why their underwear was so big.  I put plastic pants (like for old cloth diapering, or at the pool over a swim diaper) on them hoping if they wet, it would keep the wetness on them.  It didn't.  I think because the underwear was thin and didn't absorb water.
Zachary's first time in a swing.
Matthew helping to push.
I think he likes it.
Makayla and Zachary walking home from preschool.
"I think I like sitting up in the stroller" (don't worry, it was only unbuckled like this for a second.)
Joseph's first time riding his scooter more than an inch at a time. (only took him 8 months to be interested)
Why are we taking pictures right now?
If I eat my hand, she can't see me smile.
Ha..ha!

Aunt Calais came over to tell us she was unoffically engaged, and since she and the twins were wearing flannel, we had to take pictures.  Joseph is always up for a picture.

Matthew has a big cheesy grin.
Makayla had to take pictures too.

Group shot!  I like how Joseph's hand looks posed, but really he's probably just scratching his tummy.  And Matthew's cheesy grin again!

Fort building time.
Sunday selfie....baby and mommy
Peek-a-boo!
Christopher is in the fort
Joseph and Matthew in their monster jackets.
Matthew in his car bed, Joseph in his train bed.  (I finally convinced them their pillows didn't change in a pillowcase, but it must have been after this picture.)  I took this picture because they are with their blankets made by Aunt Kimberly (embroidered with their names) and the teddy bears she made for Christopher and Michael. The twins stole them and sleep with them every night.  I finally asked Matthew how he can tell which is his and which is Joseph's.  "Hammer!"  There is a picture of a hammer on the back of one of the teddys' heads and that one is Matthew's.
Maybe I can swim to the toys.
What?  I'm reaching as far as I can! (spoiler:  he finally can army crawl forward 3 months later.)
Reeeaching.
I can't remember why I took this picture, but its a regular every day picture.  Joseph in red (he loves red.)
Hey guys look up here!
Can't get everyone looking at the same time.
Once Makayla is looking, Christopher has a yawn?
Why are they all in the recycling can?
Matthew (closer) and Joseph playing with play dough.
Zachary doesn't really like baths at this point, so its hard to get a picture of him to compare to the other kids.
They found these sticks and played follow the leader (Matthew leading).  It was cute.

We were outside and this couple stopped to talk to us.  I took this picture covertly while they were talking to the kids, then I went to talk to them.  Other friends posted similar pictures on facebook, so they were in a socializing mood.
The candy from the BYU homecoming parade and Makayla painting her toe nails...and most of her toe.
The kids did my hair. (funny side note incase I forget....3 months from now, whenever Joseph brushes or combs my hair, he says "you look like Calais!"  I take that as a great compliment.
Michael laughing at being in Joseph's picture.
