Oooooklahoma!

We started the night out with a BBQ pork sandwich, coleslaw, beans, corn, and lemonade. Michael at most of his sandwich by himself. Uncles were happy to finish off the rest of the boys' food, not satisfied w/only one plate.
Then the boys rode on ponies. Aunt Trish made sure Michael wouldn't fall off.
He loved his first time on a 'horsie'
Christopher was an old pro- this was his second time.
We couldn't resist a family picture. Too bad they only had 3 face holes.
Christopher thought Michael looked so funny as a girl, he wanted to try it too.
This was not good enough.
He insisted on a full body shot. LOL
We couldn't take pictures during the actual musical, but I took a few during the pre-show to show an idea of the scenes.

I was really impressed that they found so much talent in the middle of now where. This show was outside of Tulsa. It was hot, but because of the drought, there weren't misquitos. This guy was singing 'I should'a been a cowboy' & did a really good job. It was fun to see 'Oklahoma' performed in Oklahoma.

Zoo-part 2

Sorry it took so long to get these up, we were in Arkansas for a week, then driving home, then we couldn't get the pics off the SD card. But then Rob figured out a way, so here they are.
The kids loved the sea otters. (I loved them as a kid too!) This day I loved that is was inside an air conditioned building w/a bench to sit on while the boys ran back & forth w/the sea otters.
See, I finally got a pic where you could see the sea otters, but only w/Michael's arm.
These 2 pics should have been w/the other gorilla pictures...I thought I organized them well for the blog, but I guess I didn't. They were sitting outside, one of them beating his (or her?) chest, then all of a sudden they ran inside. We followed & saw it was meal time.
Christopher & Uncle Chris on one side of the glass, gorilla sitting down on the other.
Too bad my smile isn't better in this picture...Rob went on his mission to the Philippines & they had lots of Bamboo forests, like this one.
On the way out we saw a peacock.
And an albino peacock?!

OKC Zoo, part 1

We went to the OKC Zoo. We were there for 4 hrs & it was over 100 degrees & very humid! Michael loved anything that moved, so we were sure to point out the animals that were moving. He would say 'Move! Move!"
Looking down at the sea lions.
Thanks sea lion for posing for us!
Watching the Sea Lions.
Flamingos
Lions
The male lion is sitting below Michael and Uncle Chris.
One of the female lions came to see us & she was ticked.
She walked up to the male & made him move (he was lying down) so she could get some water.
Then she turned around and swatted at Christopher. It startled us & he was excited because he said she gave him a high 5.
Michael was soo excited to see the bears. (maybe because he loves his 'bear?'). The whole time we were looking at other animals or walking, Michael kept saying 'Bear"
Upclose.
He walked over & sat in a little hole, just like a human would.
Sitting by the bear, with aunt Trish
Look, there's the bear!

About the same height... (when the bear is sitting down)

Slip N Slide @ Grandma & Grandpa Stephensons'

I feel like this post is self-explanitory. Here is Michael.
Christopher.
Rob. wait. Rob must be taking the picture, cuz I'm walking up the hill, so that must be his sister Trish. In jeans & a t-shirt. Go Trish! Way to beat the heat! Christopher.
Michael.
Don't worry that's not a snake on the grass next to them, its a belt.

Our 20 hr drive to OKC

Our drive to OKC started out great. Christopher has traveled great his whole life so we weren't worried about him, but we were worried about Michael. He's not as easy-going as Christopher. Michael's only road trip was our trip to Oregon when he was 6 months old. For that trip we had to stop every 3 hrs for me to nurse him, but he did ok considering his age. For this trip I was very excited to realize that since we were traveling at night & during his nap, he might only be awake for 5 hrs of the trip (broken up into 3 different time slots, right?!) Here he is sleeping, with his bear. He was like this for the first 3 hrs of the trip.
Christopher was very excited for the trip & we listened to his favorite song- Dynomite 6 times.
We were surprised at how green it was in Utah- all the rain is paying off. Oklahoma is a different story-no rain & 1 month straight of over 100 degrees.
I thought of a fun activity for the boys to do in the car: make fruit loop necklaces. Christopher loved making the necklace, but didn't enjoy eating it. Michael didn't want to make a necklace, but enjoyed eating the fruit loops.

And lest you think the trip went well, 7 hrs into the trip (near Vail) Michael threw up everything he ate. By the time we exited he & his car seat were soaked. Luckily it was contained to just him and his car seat. Rob cleaned up Michael while I attacked his car seat. I wiped it up best I could but 3 hrs later he woke up screaming in the middle of the night for seemingly no reason. Luckily a rest stop was right there, so we exited. (Christopher slept through this midnight scream/pullover.) His clothes were soaked from the carseat. Instead of emptying the trunk, I put his apron & Christopher's blanket on him. lol...pretty white trash everytime we stopped. We put paper towels & a plastic bag on his car seat to keep the wetness away from him. We pulled over twice for Rob to rest his eyes, one time to sleep for an hour & 1/2 (w/Michael sleeping on me), and the other time for 15 mins, him fast asleep in his car seat. He slept fine after that, but when he woke up he was done being in the car, so the last 2 hrs of the trip wasn't fun. He wanted nothing to do with our portable dvd player- he just wanted to be out of his car seat. I'm not looking forward to the ride home.

The work party Rob was incharge of...Jimmermania

Rob was incharge of the huge work party of the year. He organized everything (with a committee) & was the MC. Of those attending the party, he was at the lower end of the totem pole. (Here he is MCing)
Some guys from work sung parodies about Jimmer.
(See Jimmer on the left?;)
Rob & Jimmer are both 6'2"

Haircuts

Cute hair cut Christopher
And Michael, hair partedOne side of his head, new hair cut, plus the cut from the table
From the top (I didn't want to cut it short because it's so fine, he would look bald again.)
I should have put this first because this is the before picture. He was showing me how he smiles with his cheek.
Kind of random, but this is how Michael's sandals end up often. 2 toes on one side, 3 on the other.
