Our Day in SLC

On Tuesday we went to Salt Lake City w/my parents and 2 siblings that still live at home, who were visiting for their Spring Break.

Inside the South Visitor's center, next to the exact miniture replica of the Salt Lake Temple. (not pictured. In this picture they are looking at the real thing.)
Next to the temple, in the Bride's cove.

Looking at the Christus in the North Visitor's Center.

They recently changed the Children's play area of the Church History Museum & it is super fun. So many things to do. Michael is on the ship with a frog.
Fishing off of Lehi's ship.
Building a temple.

Collecting eggs. Chicken sounds included.
Spinning the missionary bike.
'Driving' a farm truck.
Picking/planting a garden.
Michael collecting eggs.
Playing w/ 'paper' dolls (they were made of wood)
Family rocking chairs
with reading material
He's happy, even if it was right before lunch.

After a yummy lunch at a cafe by the Deseret book headquarters store, we went to the Church office building to see the view from the 26th floor-this is the highest you can get in a building in SLC. While we were looking a a mural of the Resurrected Christ and 11 Apostles, and hearing about why the painter painted it such, Michael threw up all over the floor. Too much chocolate milk I guess. Then we went up the elevator and saw these great views:
The State Capital. It looks really cool inside & one day want to tour it. (I went to a dance there my freshman year of college)
The Salt Lake Temple.
The Conference center. The last time I had seen this view, this was not here, but there was a little replica near by of what they wanted it to look like.

Some changes around the house

With our tax return we bought some new couches. This is the first time we've bought new couches, all the rest have been used. Entering a new phase in life I guess. We love how they look!
The throw pillows close up.
So we had to rearrange downstairs. We gave part of the sectional to my sister who just got married who needed a couch. (old picture)
We moved the upstairs couches downstairs and rearranged the room. (new picture)
And we mostly finished the kitchen. (old picture)
Ta-da! It looks great Rob! Good job!

Valentine's Day

I helped out at Christopher's Valentine's Party at school. It was the first time he experienced handing out Valentines & I think he liked it. Now we have as much candy as we did at Halloween. well, almost.
A Valentine's craft.

Michael came too and they had enough cupcakes, so he could have one. I frosted it for him and christopher put the biggest piece of candy on for him.

Christopher's teacher said he won the award for having the most candy on his cupcake.

With his bag of valentines.
*Rob and I celebrated Valentines on Saturday. He surprised me with flowers (a potted plant, so they will last longer and today Christopher and I realized that the leaves were heart shaped. Christopher helped pick them out.), candy, oreos, and tickets to Harry Potter at the dollar theater. We were planning on going out to dinner before the movie, but because of a convert baptism and the time of the movie, we just got a snack. I'm hoping for a raincheck. I did the 14 days of Valentines for him again this year, which was fun for both of us.

Chuck E. Cheese

On Friday we took the boys to Chuck E. Cheese. They had a blast, but mostly just played 2 games. Basketball and Skee ball. I beat Rob at Basketball which surprised us both and did well at skee ball too. But we only played once and let the boys spend the rest of the $5 worth of tokens.

Michael couldn't do it himself, but he wanted to hold a ball.

Christopher was pretty good, but hit the plastic at the top a couple times which sent the ball flying every which way.

We also had a race: mom and michael vs. dad and christopher. they won. I"m not so good at racing games, but I did better than I normally do.

He loves throwing balls. He couldn't get them high enough in this game either.

so daddy or Christopher helped.

So we decided to repaint our kitchen cabinets...

...since we moved in exactly 2 years ago. obviously we are still working on it...and will continue to do so for the next 10 Saturdays or so. we have 37 cabinets btw. And we did mostly 8 yesterday.
you can see what they use to look it next to the fridge-a light brown, wood color. Yes, we will put the doors back on. they just have one more side to be painted. This was kind of a spur of the moment project. Maybe we shouldn't have bought a new white dishwasher& oven/range. probably too much white. And when we are done w/the cabinets, my husband wants to tile the counter. I'm thinking a dark/bold color.
For a cute 1 minute video of Michael that my sister took when she was watching the boys while we went to the temple on Friday night, click here:

Babysitting Baby Benjamin

I am babysitting my nephew, Baby Benjamin on Thursdays for like 5 hrs while my sister is in class, finishing her last semester. She babysat Christopher when he was a baby while I was finishing school too. I love it, the boys love it. Michael is giving him kisses. He also showed him the snow outside, his dance moves, and our kitchen drawers.
I wanted to get a picture of them lying on their tummies next to each other, but Benjamin rolled over too fast.
