Makayla shared her (washable) markers & the twins colored.
Joseph is having a grand ole time. Matthew is concentrating.
Rob went to work late that day to spend the morning with us. We went to Michael's award ceremony at the school, Then I took the twins to run errands. We got these birthday balloons. Joseph especially loved the balloons, and the mini trampoline we gave them.
Silly face
Matthew especially loved the scooters from Grandma & Grandpa Stephenson. He's now a pro at riding them. Joseph on the other hand, can't figure out (and doesn't put much effort into trying) how to move. He just balances. And fills the packs attached full of fun toys.
Joseph loved the box the scooters came in (and wouldn't let go of the balloons).
Makayla loves the trampoline too. We practice sharing between the 3 of them.
"Heyyy!" says Matthew. Its my turn!
Happy girl (birthdays are fun!)
6 cards arrived on their bday! (3 for each)
Getting ready for cake.
I was going to make cupcakes, but there was alot of cake left from the cub scout blue & gold banquet and an orange vanilla bean cake I made earlier in the week, so I just cut them cupcake sized pieces & put 2 candles on with their initial.
We sang to Joseph first. He's a little worried about the fire. Yes, one of his candles is falling over. I forgot to practice blowing out candles with him earlier today. Michael helped "Look Joseph, do this!" (blows out the candle for him)
Matthew was very curious about the fire. One of his candles went out early, but it was such a pain to light, I didn't worry about it. I blew on his head to show him how to blow, then he blew out the other candle himself. Or we did it together....I can't remember.
Michael trying to help Matthew open his card...while Christopher is already helping him. Joseph turns away so he can do it himself.
Michael notices, so he comes over to help.
Matthew was especially excited about the cards....from Grandma & Grandpa Loftus, Great Grandma & Grandpa Call, and Great Grandma Stephenson.
We moved locations for the next cards to give them their own chances to open the cards.
Joseph finished first and brought it to Daddy so he could read it to him.
Matthew was just excited it was full of MONEY!
Wow!
For the last card, Joseph found a new spot to sit. Matthew is excited its a card with a kitty on it.
Joseph smiling about his cards & Matthew is serious about it. Typical to their personalities. Joseph wears his emotions on his sleeve.
Ohhhh a cat!
See! A cat!
Joseph enjoying his scooter (and balloons!)
Finally got a picture of them both on the scooters at the same time. (And looking at the camera, even if Matthew has a bit of red-eye.)
The twins LOVE this picture because Daddy has his hood on just like them. They say "Haaaat" and pull on the back of their shirts whenever they see this...most of the time they don't have a hood, but they accept that explanation.
